LANDSCAPES & SEASCAPES › Wineglass Bay

Wineglass Bay

$2,420.00

Oil painting

Artwork dimensions - 152.4(W) x 61(H)cm x 3.8(D)cm

Wineglass Bay, Freycinet is a sweeping, immersive coastal landscape painted in rich oil tones. The composition opens with an expanse of radiant blue water, its surface animated with subtle movement and layered brushstrokes that suggest shifting light and a gentle breeze. The bay curves gracefully around rocky outcrops, where foamy white edges trace the shoreline, adding a sense of rhythm and energy to the scene.

To the right, a rugged, sunlit mountainside rises sharply, its faceted rock formations rendered with textured strokes in earthy greys, ochres, and soft pinks. Below it, dense coastal vegetation in deep greens cascades toward the water, contrasting with the cool brilliance of the sea. In the distance, misty mountain ranges stretch across the horizon in soft blues and violets, creating depth and a dreamlike sense of distance.

Above, a luminous sky carries soft clouds that drift across the light-filled atmosphere, enhancing the painting’s sense of calm and vastness. Howse combines realism with painterly expression, capturing both the grandeur and serenity of Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula. The work evokes the awe of standing before this iconic Australian landscape—where rugged wilderness meets the clarity and stillness of an untouched bay.

  • D-rings and cord on the back, ready for wall.

  • Accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
