Inspired by a love of art history. This naive artwork expresses the history of landscape art, as taught in secondary school.The artwork works its way down through history from the top, with Chinese landscape art, downwards to John Constable era Romanticism. The scene then blends into Australian style Impressionism, then on to Monet’s beginnings of abstract thought, landscape lily ponds. Lastly, at the base of the artwork, Monet’s Lily’s transform into a simplified, geometric abstract landscape.

Interconnecting five styles of landscape development through history this piece is a conversation starter and statement piece.
